For this piece we have taken inspiration from the Cruck timber frame buildings in our home county of Wiltshire. The Cruck bed is handmade to order out of beautiful British Oak. A mix of textured and smooth timber give this piece a rustic feel. Available in either double, King or Super King sizes and finished in either a clear (pictured) or chocolate brown Oil.
Of course, Wiltshire is still our home. It’s where we started and where we continue to thrive. It’s a special place. In fact, we think the landscape around us – chalky downland, white horses, big open skies and ancient woodlands and forests – inspires us to design and create the most inspiring handcrafted, solid timber furniture it’s possible to buy for your home.
A cruck or crook frame is a curved timber, one of a pair, which support the roof of a building, historically used in England. This type of timber framing consists of long, generally naturally curved, timber members that lean inwards and form the ridge of the roof.
