When it comes to sustainability, Forest to Home is no ordinary company. As the proud holders of Grown in Britain Chain of Custody Certificate, (which you can read about here) our commitment to ethical and environmentally responsible furniture runs right through our core.
We aim to go well beyond what is expected of us, which means when you specify our furniture, you can be sure that every piece is crafted from the finest hardwood; hand-selected and sourced from certified, sustainable sources.
We invest in support and advice from industry experts to help us to improve our processes. By constantly seeking new ways to improve our knowledge and business processes, we can ensure we are leaving a positive impact behind. We believe that sourcing timber responsibly is the bare minimum that should be expected of us, and alongside processes such as our Forest Preservation Project strive to give back far more than we take from nature. Finally, we do all we can to educate our customers and specifiers on how to buy or specify sustainable furniture – and what questions it’s important to ask.
We are proud to hold a Grown in Britain Chain of Custody Certificate. This certification confirms our commitment to full transparency in our supply chain and provides validation of the origin of the timber we use. It’s also important to know that we only buy timber from suppliers and forests that are licensed or certified by Grown in Britain, the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC).
All of our timber is from certified, sustainable sources. However, every now and then, we might also consider using an individually felled or naturally fallen tree. To craft a piece of furniture from wood that might otherwise become firewood gives the timber a long and useful second life.
